Getting This Bread, One Day At A Time
My name is Brooke (Harlow's human) and I’ve had Celiac Disease for over 20 years.
While I’ve had a lot of experience and support managing my gluten-free diet, there is always the risk of exposure.
No matter how careful I was, getting “glutened” while eating out or buying products from a store felt unavoidable… and then I discovered gluten detection service dogs.

While blindly scrolling on TikTok, I stumbled on a dog signaling to the presence of gluten at the grocery store.
I immediately called up my mother (who also has Celiac) in shock. Who knew dogs could do that?!
One large rabbit hole, and several conversations later, I ended up falling in love with Harlow.
I knew she was going to be the perfect dog for me. So, in February 2024, I flew to Colorado and brought her home.

By April, she had become the most popular employee in our office, modeled in a professional photoshoot,
been to Disneyland twice, and saved me from ingesting gluten! I couldn’t be happier with the life I’m building with Harlow, and I’m so excited to share her gift with the gluten-free community as well.
